MMM_project update!

Okay, so I've started the first portrait.  I've laid out the outline to get the proper proportions.  I'm using a scanner in the interest of time and ease (I've covered my thoughts on projectors versus straight drawing skill - so if you're no fan of the projector...don't hate).  I'm using three different pictures of varying sizes and resolutions, so I needed to do some Photoshopping to make sure that I get the proper proportions.  I ask all of my clients to provide me with clear close up pictures, but sometimes that is not possible.  If you have kids, you know what I'm talking about!

As far as composition goes, I've decided to place the oldest, Heather, in the middle with her brothers on either side.  Billy, the next oldest, is to the left because the picture we chose for him places him that way.  David, the youngest, is to the right.  I had to make sure I depict age and height by placing Heather higher in the middle, Billy, a bit lower, and David the lowest - but not too far out of range so that it wouldn't look out of composition.

Here I'm starting with Billy on the left.  I like to work left to right.  I'm right handed so I like to work so that my hand is not sitting on something I've already done.
