MMM_project update! [Copy 2 of 3]

I decided to punish myself from screwing up copy 1 by eating a lot of turkey on Thanksgiving.  A just punishment I'm sure.  Maybe copy 2 will be better.

Before starting on copy 2, I double checked to make sure that the proportions were right and there were no mishaps.  Check.

Same process as the last one.  I start with filling in the dark areas - eyes, nostril area, corners of the mouth.  Then I rough in the larger shading areas with the chamois and Q-tip.  Then I go in with the stumps to tighten up the smaller shading areas.  Last comes the hair and any clothing.  Then I clean things up with a kneaded eraser.

Lately, I've discovered this new eraser simply called "MOO".  It's not a kneaded eraser.  It's a step up from a gum eraser.  I found it at Hobby Lobby and it works great.  My gum eraser normally renders a lot of eraser shavings when using it.  This Moo eraser seems to clump the shavings together so there isn't a lot.  Be careful when erasing though.  I've discovered that the shavings will gather and move with the eraser as you're moving it, so be careful not to get it close to an area you don't want erase, lest the shavings accidentally erase something.

I present to you, copy 2 of 3.

Check out the Picasa Web Album for more updated pictures!

I'm taking some time to finish up the other copies.  Check back for more updates!
